“What is your passion?” 

This is the question that brought Roxanna Bentes to our family in 1995. An artist forged in the rainforests of Brazil, the rolling plains of Africa, and the fjords of Denmark, Roxanna was a whirlwind of creative force that still lives and breathes within the work of Spontaneous Celebrations. 

Her artistic vision and skill lives in every stitch on every puppet and in the memories of those who witnessed her joy and expression on display throughout the years. Roxanna poured her entire being into the greater community of JP. She used her connection and love of community to start the tradition that would eventually become Spontaneous Friday Night Potlucks, and continues to stiltwalk her way through the memories of all she touched. 

She spent decades of her life furthering the pursuit of joyful expression in JP, and we are more than honored to be able to celebrate her incredible life with all of you. Thank you so much for allowing Roxanna to shine with this festival.
